초록

본 연구는 일반인들이 가장 쉽게 인식할 수 있는 셉테드(CPTED) 요인인 CCTV 설치 인식의 정도에 따라 범죄의 두려움에 미치는 영향력의 변화를 통 해 셉테드의 효과성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 범죄의 두려움을 결정짓는 요인으 로 수많은 검증을 거친 범죄피해모델, 무질서모델, 지역사회통제모델의 변인 과 CCTV 인식의 정도와의 상호작용 변인으로 범죄의 두려움에 대한 CCTV 설치 인식의 조절효과 살펴보았다. 연구의 대상은 성 및 연령별 할당 표집을 통해 선정된 1,620명으로,「학교주변 환경설계를 통한 범죄예방에 관한 주민 인식 조사」자료를 이차데이터로 활용하였다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 모형을 구분한 OLS 다중회귀분석(OLS multiple regression analysis)을 이용하였으 며, SPSS. 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 지역사회 특성에 대한 인식이 범죄의 두려움에 미치는 영향에서 CCTV의 인식이 높을 수록, 범죄의 두려움을 낮게 나타내는 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of study is to examine the effectiveness of CPTED on fear of crime, especially CCTV. Individual characteristics(sex, age, income, education, crime victimization experience) and perception of community characteristics(social disorder, physical disorder, neighborhood cohesion, collective efficacy) could have impact on fear of crime, and the perception of CCTV installation could have an moderate effect on fear of crime. This study used the secondary data 「A Survey of Crime Prevention through CPTED around School, 2010」, which consists of 1,620 residents’ responses. With SPSS 18.0, OLS multiple regression analysis was used. As the result of the study, as the perception of CCTV installation increases, fear of crime is more likely to decrease. In other words, there was a moderate effect of CCTV installation on fear of crime.
