Music is performed and composed for religions' influence. The hymn has been composed to form the complement to the religion. Many forms of traditional music has been adapted to fit religions' purposes. Religious music would change to fit the times. The hymn of Won-Buddhism is analyzed and compared to those of Buddha temples and Christian churches. Starting from lyric poem song of the Great Master, Sotaesan, the hymn of Won-Buddhism is officially established in 1968. Most of the hymn of Won-Buddhism and the Gospel music of Jesus Christ are written by the christian composers with western religious lyrics. But the hymn of Buddhism is mixed with Western and Korean styles. The results suggest that the hymn of Won-Buddhism would fit times and keep on the unique feature if they use the traditional Korean style of both a pentatonic scale and a three-note scale but with western religious lyrics.
