2009 개정 교육과정 『윤리와 사상』 교과서에 수록된 플라톤의 ‘절제’ 관련 내용 정확성 비교 연구
Comparative Analysis on Accuracy of Platon's Moderation in "Ethics & Thoughts" Textbook based on 2009 Revised National Curriculum

본 연구는 2009 개정 교육과정 “윤리와 사상”의 천재교육, 지학사, 금성, 미래엔, 교학사 등의 5종 교과서에 서술된 Platon의 절제 관련 내용의 정확성을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 Platon 절제의 국가와 개인에 있어서의 의미와 대상을 국내 학자들과 해외 학자들의 번역서와 연구 결과를 통해 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 출판사별 교과서 내용의 정확성을 따져보았다. 그 결과 5종 교과서 중 세 출판사의 교과서는 정확성이 높았고, 두 출판사의 교과서는 낮은 정확성을 보였다. 정확성이 높은 세 출판사의 교과서 내용도 그 안에서 보다 정확성이 높은 부분과 낮은 부분이 있었다. Platon은 국가에 있어서의 절제를 어떤 계급이 지배할 것인지에 관한 모든 계급의 합의로 보고, 절제가 생산계급만이 아니라 모든 계급에게 필요한 덕이라고 보았다. 개인에 있어서의 절제도 이성, 기개, 욕구 모두의 합의, 의견 일치, 조화로 보아 이성, 기개, 욕구 모두에 절제의 덕이 필요하다고 보았다. 그러나 일부 교과서에는 Platon의 입장과는 다르게 그의 절제관이 서술되어 있어 수정이 필요하다.
Abstract
This research analyzes the accuracy of the contents in 5 textbooks published by Chunjae Education, Jihaksa, Kumsung, Mirae N and Kyohaksa regarding Platon’s moderation. For this, the research examines the meaning and the subject of Platon’s moderation each of the country and of individual through translations and research results of domestic and foreign scholars, and checks the accuracy of the related contents in each of the publishers, based on the examination. As a result among those companies, Chunjae, Jihaksa and Kumsung has high accuracy, and Mirae N and Kyohaksa shows low accuracy in the concept. Platon considered that moderation to the country was the consent among all strata on which stratum should govern, and that the moderation was the virtue necessary to not only the production stratum but all the strata. Chunjae, Jihaksa and Kumsung incorporate this point in common. Platon thought that moderation also to individual was the agreement of opinions and balance between rationality, spirit and desire, so they needed the virtue of the moderation. However, the textbooks of Mirae N and Kyohak describe that Platon’s moderation to the country is the virtue necessary only to the production stratum, so moderation to individual is the virtue needed only to wants or desire, too.
