Abstract

Like all historical periods in Central Asia, the monuments of the Old Stone Age have aroused great interest among the world scientific community. Places with traces of primitive people, such as Selung’ur, Teshik-tash, Obirakhmat, Kol’bulok, and Samarkand, belonging to the Paleolithic period in the region, are among the monuments of great importance in world paleolithic science. Archaeological monuments of this period were also found in the territories of Uzbekistan and were studied by experienced scientists. Paleolithic monuments of Uzbekistan are divided into paleolithic monuments of Tashkent, Zarafshan, Fergana oases and South Uzbekistan from a natural-geographic point of view. Based on the obtained scientific data, it was scientifically substantiated that the process of anthropogenesis took place also in the Central Asian region. This article describes the features of the monuments located in Uzbekistan, which occupy an important place in world paleontology. The fact that the Central Asian region was occupied by Homo erectus was scientifically substantiated after the research conducted in the Selungur area. Teshiktash cave remains the southernmost area where Neanderthal remains have been found. The Kolbulok area is a unique monument where stone weapons belonging to all stages of the Paleolithic period were found. The main monument of the last Paleolithic period in Central Asia is the Samarkand site. The monument is a unique monument in Central Asia where the anthropological findings of the Cromanon people, primitive dwellings and samples of jewelry have been identified. According to the research conducted on the Paleolithic monuments named in the article, Central Asia, especially the territory of Uzbekistan, is a region where the process of anthropogenesis has passed. Anthropological findings showing the physical development of primitive man in Central Asia, materials on plants and animals of the Paleolithic period, the discovery of art samples reflecting the cultural development of Paleolithic communities play an important role in restoring the landscape of the primitive period of the region. This article provides detailed information about the above.
