Abstract
The purpose of this study is to focus on the Gasa of Kim Kyungheum and Kim Youngsang, who lived in Taein, to reveal the Taoist orientation embodied in Samjaedoga(三才道歌) as a family academic tradition, and to examine the aspects and meanings of their Dohak-Gasa. Kim Kyungheum was a Taoist who practiced Confucian ethics throughout his life and read books on Neo-Confucianism to realize the reason for everything in the universe and to cultivate his mind. He created Samjaedoga(三才道歌) to encourage people to practice the Three Bonds in Confucianism and abandon their greed and live within their means. And Kim Youngsang, the eldest son, used the work as an opportunity to cultivate himself by reading it from his father and tried to realize the ideology of Taoism embodied in the Samjaedoga(三才道歌). Kim Kyungheum conveyed the practical Confucian ideology required of family members, whose main focus is cultivating virtue and helping the people through his Gasa. Gyeongsimga(警心歌) presupposes that the mind is the most important to the most spiritual and noble human beings in the universe, based on the content of Samjaedoga(三才道歌). Bulhyotan(不孝歎) presents the practical ethics of being filial to parents, and conveys a lesson by contrasting Chinese saints who practiced filial piety with negative characters who committed evil deeds. Lastly, Seongjuseonjeongga(城主善政歌) focuses on relieving the people in terms of promoting the expansion of Confucian norms, suggesting the correct position of local official based on the perception of the reality of the time, but encourages the people to expand it to loyalty after performing filial piety. Meanwhile, Kim Youngsang wrote Guemreungsedukdonmokga(金陵世德敦睦歌) after his parents passed away, revealing his moralistic orientation, and presenting practical ethical norms from various angles to achieve family harmony. According to the considerations so far, father Kim Kyungheum and son Kim Youngsang shared the ideology of Taoism embodied in Samjaedoga(三才道歌), but the specific aspects of the work's creation are different. In the case of Kim Kyungheum, it can be seen that he suggests practical ethics to learn the most important Confucian ideology in the family through Gyeongsimga(警心歌) and Bulhyotan(不孝歎), and because cultivating mental cultivation and virtue, and filial piety are not ethical norms limited to the family, the subject of edification can be expanded not only to family members but also to Hyangchon people. On the other hand, Seongjuseonjeongga(城主善政歌) is a work that Kim Kyungheum chose the necessary ethical norms for local officials and local residents to fulfill his duty as a local resident who lived in the Taein region, and the ethical norms implemented in Samjaedoga(三才道歌) are expected to have been further strengthened as a community ethical norm that encompasses the upper and lower classes through this work. In contrast, in the case of Kim Youngsang, considering the situation in which he created works after the death of his parents, it is believed that as the eldest son, he sought a way to bring harmony to the family by revealing the achievements of his ancestors for the purpose of establishing the status of the family and uniting the members.
