Abstract

Sports do not allow segregation and discrimination based on fairness and equality. However, to pursue fairness in competition, we sometimes divide them into gender, weight class, and age. The distinction between sports for the disabled and non-disabled sports is in the same vein. Since human rights have the universality that all human beings have, there is no reason for the sport to change significantly. It also offsets discrimination. In other words, we discriminate ‘classification’, which is also why the discrimination is justified in the name of fairness. Therefore, this study focused on identifying the status of human rights violations in sports for the disabled and presenting the tasks. Although the problems presented by the specificity of sports for the disabled are different from those of non-disabled sports, in the end, the problems of ‘human’, ‘classification’ and, ‘discrimination’ should be discussed from a common point of view. It is a necessary time to lay the foundation for ‘human rights-friendly sports’ that will build up the value of sports as a sport rather than dividing the boundaries between disabled and non-disabled people.
