초록
This study explores Korean parents’ tolerance of their children’s challenging behavior and its relationship to parental stress and children’s temperament. Data were collected using parent report measures of tolerance; the Annoying Behavior Inventory (ABI) from 299 Korean mothers of children between the ages of 4 and 6 years enrolled in five private kindergartens in Suwon and Seoul. The mothers showed moderate tolerance of their child’s challenging behavior. The mothers’ tolerance of child misbehaviors was significantly different for the child’s birth order and the type of sibling. However the result of the correlation analysis showed that mothers’ tolerance of child misbehaviors was not significantly associated with their parenting stress nor child temperament.
