Abstract
In the neoliberal era, where the sensitivity to ethics of caring and being considerate for one another is decreasing while the lack of understanding and intolerance toward others is increasing, the value of ‘solidarity’ is more important than ever. Cart(2014) shows the process of starting from conventional solidarity, going through affectional solidarity, and then reflective solidarity through the figure of female workers who formed a labor union and fought in the face of the threat of layoffs. Phantom(2023) depicts the process of conventional solidarity encompassing affectional solidarity in the process of two women risking their lives in the anti-Japanese independence movement. A Girl At My Door(2014) is the story of two women of different generations, with wounded inner selves, discovering each other and forming solidarity, ultimately saving each other. In The Day I Died: Unclosed Case(2020), the figure of female solidarity is presented more complexly, sometimes between two or three people, and sometimes in a visible or invisible form. In this respect, these four films represent female solidarity in various ways and, through this, open up an alternative imagination of the community and its future.
