Abstract
Insomnia has a high prevalence with its great seriousness and damageproblems, but not many insomniacs visit therapists for treatment. Insomnia begins mostly when one feels psychological pressure, and evenafter pressure factors disappear, insomnia will continue due to worriesabout insomnia or negative conditioning associated with insomniastimulus. People with poor-quality sleep react negatively to situationsthey are exposed to, thus lowering the subjective quality of their lives. Although sleep is an essential factor that has an important influence overthe healthy life of humans, thus improving the quality of life, there havebeen less researches on sleep than on other areas, and christiancounseling also does not take so much interest in sleep. Against thisbackdrop, this study seeks to review researches on the causes ofinsomnia and treatment thereof, and to explore christian counseling aboutinsomnia based on the experience in various treatment factors. Christiancounseling activities help realize the ultimate purpose of life over thecourse of the difficulty experienced by human beings. Thus, christiancounselors inspire insomniac clients to recognize the identity ofthemselves as God’s children. Clients can interpret their continuingexperience of insomnia in their relationships with God, and experience anew possibility that through prayers and religious resources of Words, they can play a functional role in resolving their reality problems. It ishoped that although there is a lack of experiential grounds for christiancounseling about insomnia, the understanding of the treatment value ofprayers and words of Bible and the utilization of religious resources willhelp with the treatment of insomnia.
