외상 후 성장에 대한 기독교 상담적 접근

본 연구의 목적은 충격적인 사건 혹은 사고들로 인하여 외상 사건을 겪은 개인이, 이후 우울 ․ 불안 ․ 공황 ․ 공포 ․ 외상 후 스트레스 등으로 심리적 고통을 경험하지만 정신장애 진단으로는 진행되지 않고 이를 더 잘 극복하여 외상 후 성장과 긍정적 변화에 도달할 수 있도록 도울 수 있는 기독교 상담 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 외상이 무엇이고 외상 후 스트레스 장애가 무엇인가에 관한 것을 살펴보았다. 성경에 나타난 외상에 대한 3가지 관점인 심판적 관점, 타락의 영향으로써 관점, 하나님과의 연합의 기회를 각각 탐색하고, 기독교 상담에서 주의해야할 사항을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 외상 후 성장에 관한 초기 연구에서 발견된 대범주적 변인들과 국내동향 연구결과에서 나타난 다수의 변인들 가운데서도 많은 연구에 인용되고 있는 외상 후 성장 요인들인 애착유형, 자기노출, 사회적지지, 대처 방식, 의도적 반추 그리고 종교와 영성의 개념적 이해를 고찰하였다. 외상 후 성장에 대한 기독교 상담의 통합 모델을 기반으로 외상 사건을 경험한 사람들이 던지는 실존적 질문인 삶을 흔드는 위협적 사건이 자신과 희생자에게 발생한 이유에 대한 신학적 이해와 상담사례를 살펴보고, 기독교 상담이 무엇인지와 심리치료의 역동적 변화 모델을 기독교 상담에 통합하고 변형하는 방안을 제시해 보았다.
Abstract
This research tried to present a christian counseling approach so that an individual to experience trauma from Catastrophic events and accidents may suffers from multitude of its symptoms such as depression, anxiety, panic, phobia, and posttraumatic stress, but eventually can reach posttraumatic growth (PTG) and positive change by effectively coping with it as he/she is not diagnosed into mental disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For this purpose, this article not only investigated what traumatic events and posttraumatic stress disorder are, but also proposed precaution in Christian counseling associated with three views of trauma revealed in the Bible – a view of God’s judgement, a view of a impact from the Fall, and a view of an opportunity to commune with God. This study examined a few important variables of PTG that have been recently studied and frequently cited in this area like attachment styles, self-disclosure, social support, coping strategies, deliberate rumination, and religiosity and spirituality after broad categorical variables found by leading researchers are reviewed. This research investigated its Biblical answers as well as an existential question that is often asked by individuals encountering traumatic events and then suggested both what an integration model of the Christian counseling is and a way of integrating psychotherapeutic dynamic model of change with it.
