교육에서 학습 기준이라는 것은 학생들의 교육 개발 측면에서 특정 연령대에 어떤 지식을 쌓아야 하는지와 무엇을 할 수 있는지에 대한 잣대이다. 미국의 초등학생과 중학생들의 춤 학습 기준은 춤의 문화에 대한 지식과 기술의 사용이다. 라반 움직임 분석(LMA)은 루돌프 라반이 만들어 낸 교육, 배움, 안무, 공연, 창작, 그리고 녹화에 대한 이론적인 틀이다. 이 논문은 LMA를 미국의 각 지역․주 및 국가의 춤 기준으로 사용하기 위한 분석이다. 이것은 문화적 지식과 기술의 사용에 기반을 두고 있다. 무엇보다도 이 논문은 LMA를 춤의 움직임 특성 중에서도 문화와 관련된 부분과 관련하여 이해하고 탐구하는 틀로 사용하려 한다. 특히 한국의 경우를 보고, 이런 움직임의 특성을 조명하기 위해 사용된 기술을 살펴보고자 한다.
Abstract
In education, learning standards are descriptions of what students are expected to know and be able to do at specific stages of their educational development. United States learning standards in dance for primary and secondary school students include learning outcomes addressing, among other topics, knowledge of dance cultures and the use of technology. Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) is Rudolf Laban’s (1879-1958) theoretical framework for teaching, learning, choreographing, performing, writing about and recording movement. This paper will examine LMA as a tool for addressing U.S. local, state and national dance standards that focus on cultural knowledge and use of technology. Specifically, the paper will examine LMA as a framework for identifying and understanding movement characteristic of dances identified with specific cultures, such as Korea, and some of the technology used to illuminate those movement characteristics.
