우리나라에서는 현재 2011 특수교육 교육과정(교육과학기술부 고시 제2011-501호)에 따라 기본교육과정 교과용 도서를 개발하고 있는 중이다. 특수교육과정은 크게 공통 교육과정과 선택교육과정, 그리고 기본 교육과정으로 구성되어 있으며, 공통 교육과정과 선택 교육과정을 적용할 수 없는 중도 장애학생에게는 기본 교육과정을 대안적 교육과정으로 적용하도록 하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 현재 개발되고 있는 수학과 기본 교육과정의 내용 체계를 일본의 지적장애 특별지원학교 수학과 교육과정 내용 체계와 비교함으로써 보다 효과적인 교육과정 개발과 운영을 위하여 어떤 점들이 개선될 여지가 있는지를 알아보기 위한 것이었다. 분석 결과 우리나라의 2011년 개정 특수교육 교육과정의 수학과 기본 교육과정은 일본의 지적장애 특별지원학교 수학과 교육과정에 비교하였을 때, 통합교육 접근성이 매우 우수한 혁신적인 패러다임의 변화를 가져오는 교육과정이라고 평가할 수 있으나 중도지적 장애를 가진 학생들에 대한 유동성을 제공하는데에는 다소 미진함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 학년군에 따른 적절한 교육과정 운영을 위해서는 교과용도서의 개발 및 적용에 있어서 장애학생의 개인차를 충실히 반영한 개별화 교육이 가능하도록 구성하여야 하며, 교과서 개발 이후에도 실제 적용에 관한 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
Abstract
Our nation is currently developing subject textbooks for the basic curriculum according to the 2011 special education curriculum (Notification No. 2011-501 of the Department for Education and Science). The special education curriculum consists of the common curriculum, the selective curriculum, and the basic curriculum. The basic curriculum is used as alternate curriculum for students with severe disabilities who cannot use either of the other two. The purpose of this study was to compare the content system of the mathematics basic curriculum in South Korea with the content system of the mathematics basic curriculum for students with intellectual disabilities in Japan. From the result of the study, we attempted to identify areas needing improvement for the development and management of a more effective curriculum. The result of the analysis shows that the mathematics basic curriculum of the 2011 revised special education curriculum in South Korea is excellent in the access to inclusive education in comparison with Japan’s special education curriculum. However, South Korea’s special education curriculum lacked sufficient attention for students with severe cognitive disabilities in comparison with Japan. The range of individual characteristics of students with disabilities needs to be considered in the development of subject textbooks for the management of an appropriate curriculum according to grade groups.
