초등학생용 자기주도적 학습 능력 향상 프로그램 개발을 위한 연구

본 연구는 자신의 삶을 스스로 주도하고 관리할 줄 아는 능동적인 자기주도적 학습자를 양성해야한다는 기본적인 전제 하에, 초등학생을 대상으로 하는 자기주도적 학습 능력 향상을 위한 프로그램이 필요하다는 점을 상정하였다. 이에 본 연구는 이미 다양한 자기주도적 학습 능력 향상을 위한 자료나 프로그램이 난무한 현 상황에서 ‘교사’가 활용하기에 유용하고, ‘초등학생’의 능력향상에 실질적으로 기능할 수 있는 보다 의미 있는 학습 프로그램을 만들기 위한 이론적 기반을 닦고, 예시적인 프로그램을 개발하는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 이에 자기주도적 학습의 구성요소인 ‘인지전략’에 중점을 두고 그것의 하위 6가지 영역을 파악한 뒤, 이들을 6가지 모듈로 구성하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이 개발 과정을 바탕으로 자기주도적 학습 능력 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발에 대해 얻은 함의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기주도적 학습 능력 향상을 위한 프로그램은 교과나 또는 다른 특정 학습내용과 연결되어 있어야 한다. 둘째, 자기주도적 학습 능력이 실제 학습에 유용하게 사용되기 위해서는 프로그램의 형태에 대한 고민도 필요하다. 셋째, 자기주도적 학습 방법이 교과나 해당 교과의 모학문 분야마다 똑같은 것이 아니라, 각각의 교과나 학문 분야에 따라 특성화된 방법이 존재한다는 것을 알고 이것을 프로그램 개발에 반영해야 한다. 넷째, 자기주도적 학습 능력 신장을 위한 프로그램은 그 자체가 메타적이고 초인지적인 학습 프로그램의 형태여야 한다. 다섯째 학생들의 자기주도적 학습 능력을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램은 실제 ‘교수⋅학습 과정’의 진행과정을 염두해 두어야 한다.
Abstract
This research centers around the premise that focusing cognitive domain is perhaps the most effective way for us to produce active self-directed learners who lead and manage one’s own life for a future. Therefore researchers developed program to improve self-directed learning ability. This program is comprised of six ‘learning Module’ that six cognitive strategies could be the key. In order to check the effect of the this program, application of this Program in education setting is requisite. Afterwards, in order to verify the effectiveness of the program, four classrooms located in Seoul were selected to apply the program. Modifies this program many times as directed by teachers or students. Through the results of the analysis, we were able to find the undertone of the program for the improvement of the self-directed learning ability. First of all, the program for self-directed learning ability should not treat students superficially with variety of learning materials, but it requires repeated and systemized learning to progress with the use of concrete and intensive module programs. Especially, it was found out that by applying the cognitive strategies, which is a definite and actual medium, sufficiently with the situation or context is very effective. Also, we were able to find that self-directed programs do not pursuit only 'method' without any 'content', but it is a process of learning the 'method' through the 'content'. And since the effectiveness of self-directed learning can be increased when it is developed and applied by grafting students experience or livlihood onto the formal education subject, there needs to be a serious consideration about integration of the program development. Lastly, being accustomed to self-directed learning, by using the cognitive strategies, can be a burden to the students. Therefore, when applying these kind of programs the teachers shouldn't leave the matter to students, but they should lead the direction in a way that teachers and students learn together about the process and steps of self-directed learning.
