음악대학생의 음악치료에 대한 인식과 진로 선택 관련 연구

이 연구의 목적은 음악대학생들의 음악치료에 대한 인식과 그들의 진로선택과의 관련성을 조사하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울, 경기 지역 음악대학과 전문대학 총 62개교에 재학 중인 음악대학생이었으며, 수집된 자료는 빈도분석, 상관분석, t-검정, 교차분석 및 탐색적 요인분석을 사용하여 SPSS 21.0 프로그램으로 통계처리 하였다. 결과는, 첫째, 총 460명의 응답자 중 음악치료에 대해 들어 본 적이 있다고 한 응답자는 95%(437명)였고, 음악치료를 알게 된 경로는 지인을 통해 알게 되었다는 응답이 26.7%(117명)로 가장 많았다. 둘째, 음악대학생들은 음악치료사직업에 대해서 Likert 5점 척도에 평균 3.72점으로 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 음악치료사는보람된 일을 하는 직업이고, 클라이언트를 생각하는 마음이 가장 중요하다고 응답하였으나, 병원이나 기관에서 인정받는 전문직이라는 인식은 낮았다. 셋째, 음악대학생의 음악치료 이해 및효과에 대한 인식, 음악치료사 직업에 대한 인식 간의 관련성은 모두 정적인 상관관계가 유의미하게 나타났다. 넷째, 음악치료 진로 선택 의향과 관련해서 91.1%의 음악대학생들이 음악전공과 음악치료 전공은 긍정적인 관련성이 있다고 인식하고 있었으나, 음악치료대학원 진학 의향에대해서는 42.2%가 ‘잘 모르겠다.’라고 응답하였다. ‘잘 모르겠다.’ 라고 응답한 이유는 ‘다른 진로의 방향과 고민이 되어서’가 51.9%로 가장 높은 비율을 보였고, 그 다음으로 23.3%는 ‘음악치료에 대해 잘 몰라서’를 이유로 응답했다. 결론적으로 음악대학생들의 음악관련 분야 직업 중하나인 음악치료사에 대한 이해와 인식을 높이기 위하여 다양한 교육과 경험의 기회를 제공하여 재능있고 사명감 있는 미래의 음악치료사의 저변 확대를 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate how music majors perceive the practice of music therapy, examining their potential interest in music therapy as a career. The subjects of the study were 460 students enrolled across 62 colleges of music in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, cross analysis and exploratory factor analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program. The results of this study are as follows: First, 95% of the respondents had heard about music therapy and 26.7% of them answered that they had learned about music therapy through acquaintances. Second, it was shown that music majors perceived music therapy positively as a career at an average score of 3.58 on the Likert 5-point scale. The data showed that they viewed music therapy as a rewarding job, especially in the attentive care of its clientele. However, they also noted that social awareness of music therapy was low. Third, it was found that for music college students, understanding of music therapy, perception of music therapy’s effectiveness, and perception of music therapy as a career all statistically showed a significant positive correlation. Fourth, 91.1% of music college students’ recognized that a major in music and a major in music therapy had a positive correlation. However, 42.2% responded with, “ I do not know,” whether go into music therapy. The reason for this was that 51.9% were in situations where they were undecided about their future career, followed by 23.3% of respondents expressing a lack of knowledge about music therapy in general. In conclusion, more evidence-based research, education opportunity and publicity could promote a better understanding of music therapy for music college students as well as the public.
