The purpose of this study is to analyze the errors of pronunciation and spelling by middle school students, and then to seek for a desirable way of phonological education for them. In order to have an understanding of Regulation of Standard Korean, it is necessary to have a phonological knowledge and to know the relationship between the pronunciation and the spelling. More than anything else, to correct the errors in pronunciation and spelling, the phonological, phonetic, orthographic education should be linked. And Regulation of Standard Korean should be taught, linked with the phonological units in textbook, The education not only in standard pronunciation and also in spelling regulations should be enforced. And educational content by which students are able to distinguish the actual pronunciation from the standard pronunciation should be made up of. (Yeungnam University)
