본 연구는 자유품새의 경기규칙으로 인한 문제와 그에 대한 개선방안을 탐색하기 위하여 국가대표 경험이 있는 선수와 국가대표 지도자, 품새상임심판을 대상으로 심층면담을 통한 연구를 진행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 연구참여자들은 난이도 구분의 부재로 인해 큰 불편함을 호소하였고, 난이도의 명확한 책정의 필요성을 강력히 주장하였다. 둘째, 판정 기준에서는 감점 사항과 평가, 수행 형태의 명시가 미흡하여 불편하다 응답하면서 개선을 희망하였다. 특히 회전발차기에서 900도 뒤후려차기가 1,080도 돌개차기보다 높게 판정받는 것에 선수와 지도자들은 판정에 불신하는 모습을 보였는데, 심판은 회전각 자체의 난이도와 더불어 발차기 형태에도 난이도를 구분하여 판정한다고 응답하였고, 1,080도 돌개차기를 수행하는 선수들 대부분의 표현이 좋지 못한 것을 지적하였다. 공정한 채점이 이루어질 수 있도록 심판의 능률과 판정의 신뢰도를 높이고 평가에 대한 직관성을 높이기 위하여 자유품새 경기규칙의 개선은 반드시 이뤄야 할 과제일 것이다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to explore the issues arising from the competition rules of the freestyle Poomsae and propose possible improvements. In-depth interviews were conducted with athletes with national team experience, national team coaches, and Poomsae referees, leading to the following conclusions. First, the participants expressed significant discomfort due to the lack of difficulty classification and strongly emphasized the need for clear determination of difficulty levels. Second, the participants indicated that the scoring criteria were insufficiently clear, especially in terms of deduction items, evaluation, and performance form, and they expressed a desire for improvement. Specifically, athletes and coaches showed distrust in the scoring system when a 900-degree back roundhouse kick was scored higher than a 1,080-degree spinning roundhouse kick. Referees responded that they differentiate the difficulty not only based on the rotation angle but also the form of the kick, and they pointed out that most athletes performing the 1,080-degree spinning roundhouse kick did not execute it well. To ensure fair scoring, improve referee efficiency, and increase the credibility of the judgments, as well as enhance the intuitiveness of the evaluation, it is essential to improve the competition rules for freestyle Poomsae
