본 연구는 기업의 외부환경이 기술경영역량과 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 기업의 경영환경의 변화와 기술경영역량에 관한 관계를 분석하였다. 경영환경의 변화는 환경불확실성, 시장이질성, 산업성장률을 고려하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 대전, 충남 지역의 76개 생산기업을 대상으로 데이터를 수집하였다. 수집한 데이터는 PLS를 활용하여 분석하였다. 가설검정 결과, 환경불확실성, 시장이질성, 산업성장률이 기업의 기술경영역량에 유의적인 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 기술경영역량이 기업성과에 유의적인 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 급격한 경영환경의 변화 속에서 성과를 향상시키기 위해서 기업의 다른 기업과 차별화된 기술경영역량을 보유하고 발전시켜 나가야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The objective of this paper seeks to examine the relationships among the business environment, the technology management capability and firm performance. The development of the research model is based on the empirical studies of the management from technology literature. A theoretical model was tested in which a business environment exerts a direct effect on the technology management capability; the technology management capability then influences firm performance. A business environment consists of three parts: environmental uncertainty, heterogeneity and market growth. The model was empirically tested from a survey consisting of 76 South Korean productivity firms. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). Based on the empirical analysis, the following results are discussed in the following sentences. First, technology management capability was affected by environmental uncertainty, heterogeneity and market growth of business environment. Second, firm performance was affected by the technology management capability. This article focuses on how technology management capability can improve the performance of a firm in a rapidly changing and complex business environment. We conclude that firms must build up their technology management capabilities to achieve their higher for performance.
