한국어 구어 교육을 위한 교육자료의 실제성 분석연구 -‘진짜’의 의미와 기능을 중심으로-

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the authenticity of educational materials by comparing the usage patterns of the spoken Korean lexical item “jinjja”(really) as presented in Korean language education resources with those found in reference corpora that reflect actual language use. The study seeks to provide insights into how vocabulary instruction can more effectively support the development of spoken language proficiency in Korean language learners. To achieve this, the study analyzed the meanings and functions of `jinjja' in a corpus containing approximately two million word tokens. The analysis identified that `jinjja' serves not only its fundamental meanings of emphasis and confirmation but also performs various discourse functions, such as focalization, emotional expression, and agreement. However, Korean language textbooks do not sufficiently cover these extended meanings and functions related to discourse markers. Although the core meaning of `jinjja' is often used in a similar sense in the learners' native languages, its extended meanings and strategic usage in Korean are more challenging for them to acquire. Therefore, spoken language education should actively incorporate and reflect its function as a discourse marker learning materials. While this study focuses on analyzing the word `jinjja', its research methodology can be applied to various linguistic studies.
