초록

본 연구의 목적은 친족성폭력 피해자의 자조집단 참여 경험의 의미를 탐색하고 이를 통해 친족성폭력 피해자들의 사회적 지지를 높이기 위한 중장기적 지원방안으로서 자조집단의 실천적 의의를 검토하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울 지역 한 성폭력 피해자 지원기관의 친족성폭력 피해자 자조집단에 참여 중인 20대 여성 6명을 대상으로 심층면접을 진행하고 Col aizzi의 현상학적 방법으로 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 총 32개 주제, 12개 주제모음, 5개 범주가 도출되었으며, 5 개 범주는 ‘용기의 첫발’, ‘새로운 연결’, ‘공감과 신뢰의 유대’, ‘상호지지를 통한 치유와 성장’, ‘상부상조의 장’으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 토대로 친족성폭력 피해자들의 역량강화를 촉진하는 중장기적 실천방안의 하나로 자조집단의 유용성이 있음을 제시하고 자조집단 활성화를 위한 실천적, 정책적 시사점을 제언하였다.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the meaning of survivors’ self-help group experiences as a long-term social support for survivors of intra-familial sexual abuse. Research participants were six women in their 20s who were participating in a self-help group for victims of intra-familial sexual abuse in Seoul, Korea. Data were collected by in-depth interview and analyzed with Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. As a result of the study, a total of 32 themes, 12 theme clusters, and 5 categories were derived, and the 5 categories were ‘First steps of courage’, ‘New connections’, ‘Bonds of empathy and trust’, ‘Healing and growth through mutual support’ and ‘a place of mutual help’. Based on the findings, we have discussed the meaning of survivors’ experiences in self-help groups and lastly have made suggestions for the social welfare policy and practice for them.
