첫째, 사회심리학적 연구의 기본 틀을 바탕으로 돈에 대한 태도 척도의 하위차원을 정서적 차원(the affective motive of money), 행동적 차원(the behavioral stewardship of money), 인지적 차원(the cognitive meaning of money)으로 구분하고 각 차원별 구성요소를 확인하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to compare and analyze the composition and subdimension characteristics ofexisting money attitude scales and to identify the relevant variables utilized by each scale. Tothis end, domestic and international studies on money attitude scales published between 2010and 2025 were analyzed, with a focus on their subdimensions and components. We examinedhow the affective, behavioral, and cognitive subdimensions were structured by scale type, andwe reviewed the variables employed in each study to determine the associated research topicsand objectives. The results are as follows. First, based on the basic framework of social psychological researchon attitudes, the subdimensions of the money attitude scale were divided into the affectivemotive of money, the behavioral stewardship of money, and the cognitive meaning of money, and the components of each were identified. Second, the majority of scales contained the most cognitive components, and the emphasis onthese three dimensions varied across scale types. The main components of the affectivedimension were money worries and anxiety, while the behavioral dimension was budget money, and the cognitive dimension was achievement and power. Third, examining the variables utilized in the money attitude scale studies revealed thatscales with a strong correlation with specific variable groups tended to be used more frequently, depending on the research purpose. This study systematically reviewed and structurally analyzed the scales of attitudes toward money used in previous domestic and international studies by dividing them into subdimensions and components. It also presented practical guidelines for selecting scales appropriate for the research purpose or related variables.
