청년주거안정을 위한 사회주택 방향성 -주거지재생 활용을 중심으로-

Abstract

This study analyzed the impact of youth housing anxiety in Korea on declining birth rates and poor urban competitiveness, and proposed an integrated approach to revitalizing social housing and urban regeneration new deal projects to solve the youth housing problem. In light of the instability of youth housing in Korea as a way to do this, it was revealed that these problems negatively affect the life of young people, resulting in low birth rates and a decrease in socioeconomic vitality in the city. Since then, the successful social housing model has been analyzed through the cases of France and the Netherlands, and through consideration, it has explored whether it can be applied to Korea’s urban regeneration and housing policy. Social housing contributes to reducing the economic burden of young people by providing inexpensive and high-quality housing options, and at the same time promoting comprehensive social integration within the city. In areas where residential regeneration is achieved through the urban regeneration new deal, the use of social housing is effective in revitalizing the underdeveloped parts of the city and strengthening the competitiveness of the city as a whole. It was proposed to link Moatown and rapid integration planning in areas with high accessibility using the urban regeneration new deal residential regeneration. By suggesting a way to solve the youth housing problem in this way, we propose a strategy to revitalize isolated areas in the city center and realize social inclusion in a wide range. If the urban regeneration new deal and social housing are integrated and implemented, it will ensure housing stability for not only young people but also various social classes and contribute to sustainable urban development. This paper emphasizes that housing policy can be a key driver of national development beyond just providing space by seeking ways to strengthen the city’s social and economic sustainability that can be achieved through youth housing support policies, rather than simply seeing the youth housing problem as a problem of “housing supply.” It suggests that youth housing stability can play an effective role in solving the country’s social and economic problems and provides policymakers with directions for the development of viable and effective housing policies.
