은퇴교사의 새로운 학습경험을 통한 교직 소명의식의 변화과정 탐색

본 연구는 교직에서 최소 30년 이상 종사하다가 50대 후반 이후 은퇴한 사람을 대상으로 교직에서의 소명의식의 삶의 과정과 의미를 탐색하고, 새로운 학습경험의 삶을 통해 소명의식의 변화와 은퇴 후의 삶의 유형을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연구의 목적에 적합한 연구 대상자를 선별 표집 하여 심층면접을 통한 질적 연구과정 진행한 연구의 결과를 다음과 같다. 첫째로, 1970년대부터 거의 40여년에 걸친 교직생활 동안 교직에 대한 사회적 인식이 변하면서 교직에 대한 소명의식도 변하여 왔다. 한국사회는 격변의 시기였고 교사로서의 삶과 소명의식도 시대적 변화의 물결에 영향을 받았다. 둘째로, 연구 참여자들이 평생을 교직이라는 하나의 직종에서 봉직하면서 정도의 차이는 있겠지만 소명의식은 이미 그들의 삶 자체가 되었음을 알 수 있고, 은퇴 후의 삶의 유형에 영향을 미치고 있음을 볼 수 있다. 마지막으로, 은퇴를 하는 순간 대부분의 참여자들은 보람 있는 교직의 삶을 살았다는 의미를 부여하고 있었다. 이는 하나의 직종에 30년 이상 봉직한 사람들은 은퇴 후에도 그들의 직업 소명의식에서 쉽게 벗어날 수 없음을 보여주는 결과이다.
Abstract
This study was to describe retired teachers who worked more than 30 years in school. It explored changes of sense of calling in his working time and changed life style and sense of calling after retired from teaching profession. A qualitative case study was conducted with 11 research participants using in-depth interviews. The research results revealed that sense of calling has been changed through sense of social evaluation on teaching profession as social development and changing during almost 40 years from 1970s. Teacher's sense of calling has been changed through the violent changing time in korea society. And sense of calling was same as his life because of having only one job opportunity and it also influenced his shape of life after retired. Research participants recognize the value of teaching profession as fruitful life in a point of retire time. Its means that anyone who worked more than 30 years in one profession can not free himself from sense of calling in his profession.
