ADHD유아에 대한 조기 판별 가능성 탐색 : 유아교사의 ADHD에 대한 지식과 태도를 중심으로

본 연구는 유아기에 보여주는 발달적 문제를 조기에 중재해야 한다는 예방적, 교정적 차원의 중요성을 인식하면서, 주의력결핍과잉행동장애(ADHD: Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder)유아에 대한 조기판별의 과정에서 일차적인 정보원이 될 수 있는 유아교사의 지식과 태도수준을 통한 ADHD유아에 대한 판별의 가능성을 탐색해 보았다. 이를 위해 유아교사 138명을 대상으로 ADHD에 대한 지식과 태도수준을 살펴보았는데, 결과는 첫째, 유아교사들의 ADHD에 대한 지식이 낮았다. 둘째, 유아교사들의 ADHD에 대한 태도는 다소 비일관적이고, 부정적이었으며, 유아교사들은 ADHD에 대한 지식을 주로 인터넷이나 대중매체를 통하여 많이 습득하고 있었다. 이들 결과를 통하여 ADHD유아를 조기에 선별해야 하는 주 책임을 가지고 있는 유아교사들의 ADHD에 대한 낮은 지식체계와 태도가 결국 ADHD유아의 조기판별 방해조건이 될 수 있음을 예상할 수 있었다. 그리고, ADHD유아의 조기 판별의 어려움을 극복하기 위해서는 유아교사들에게 전문성을 강화하는 적극적인 유아교사연수프로그램 제공이 무엇보다도 시급히 필요함을 제안하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to begin to explore among teachers' knowledge and attitude of ADHD, as a difficulties to early identification for them. For this study, participants was 138 who were working at kindergarten and care centers. They rated a self-reported questionnaire on knowledge and attitude towards ADHD. The results are as followed. First, Knowledge toward ADHD was relatively low. Second, Attitude towardt ADHD was also inconsistent or negative. Third, The main sources of knowledge about ADHD were Web surfing and commercial media. In conclusion, we can know knowledge and attitude about ADHD were sound to be low and negative. So these have become barriers to early identification for preschooler with ADHD. Therefore, We should promote a special course on ADHD for teachers and education should be part of the curriculum of faculty training.
