유치원 교사의 ADHD에 대한 지식과 중재에 대한 수용도

본 연구는 주의력결핍 과잉행동장애(ADHD: Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) 유아들의 교육을 직접 담당하고 있는 유치원교사들의 ADHD에 대한 지식과 치료의 수용도가 어떠한가를 살펴보면서 ADHD 유아들의 조기 선별과 효과적인 교육적 중재 가능성을 탐색해 보았다. 이를 위해 P도시 유치원에 근무하고 있는 교사 84명을 대상으로 Verb 와 DiPerna(2004)가 제작한 KARE 측정도구를 수정보완한 후 자료를 수집하였다. 그 결과는 첫째, 유치원교사들의 ADHD에 대한 지식에 대해서는 36%정도가 모른다고 응답하였다. 둘째, 유치원교사들의 ADHD를 위한 약물치료 및 행동중재에 대한 수용도 중 약물치료에 대한 수용도는 중립적인 반면, 행동중재 수용도는 긍정적이었다. 셋째, 유치원교사들의 ADHD 일반적 지식은 약물치료 수용도와 부적상관을 보여주어 ADHD에 대한 올바른 지식여부와 관계없이 약물에 대한 편견이 있을 수 있음이 가정되었다. 따라서 본 연구결과를 통해 ADHD아동의 조기선별과 중재를 담당해야 할 교사들의 ADHD에 대한 올바른 지식체계 마련을 위하여 교사 연수프로그램을 구성할 때 이러한 사실들을 반영할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to begin to explore the relationship among teachers' knowledge of ADHD, knowledge of common treatment for ADHD, and acceptability of different approaches to treatment for ADHD(medication and behavior management). For this study, participants was 84 who were working at kindergarten and dat care centers rated KARE inventory(Verb ＆ DiPerna, 2004). The results are as followed. First, They responded as "DON'T KNOW" related to items above 36% high. Second, They showed positive response about behavior management than medication. Third, common knowledge of ADHD was negatively correlated with acceptability of medication. Overall, It is possible to predict they have misconception about medication independent of correct knowledge. Therefore, Strengthening in-service teachers' training is needed.
