초록

The purpose of this paper is to explore ways to save Shakespeare classes in Korean universities that are facing many difficulties today. Most instructors at nonAnglophone universities, including those in Korea, think that students avoid Shakespeare because they find his works hard to read. It is important to help students learn by providing various image texts through multimedia, such as the Internet, videos, DVDs, and YouTube, and also to guide them to understand Shakespeare’s plays in detail by encouraging them to stage their own productions. I believe that if the instructor chooses the best teaching strategy for his or her class, using a variety of multimedia, and actively conducts performance practice to give students a threedimensional understanding of the plays, allowing them to enjoy one Shakespeare play annually, they will learn to appreciate Shakespeare and even love him.
