발달장애 아동 어머니의 양육 부담감, 우울 및 자아존중감의 상호 관계 -정신지체와 자폐 아동 어머니를 중심으로-

본 연구는 목적은 발달장애 아동 어머니의 양육 부담감, 우울 및 자아 존중감의 정도와 관계성 및 영향력을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 장애인 복지관, 재활병원과 발달 클리닉 센타를 이용하는 장애 아동 어머니 173명을 대상으로 변량 분석, 상관분석 및 중다회귀분석을 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과 발달장애 아동 어머니는 보통 이상의 양육 부담감을 느끼며 장애아동의 장래를 가장 걱정하였고 이는 아동의 장애가 심할수록 더욱 높았다. 또한 연구 대상의 2/3 정도가 우울상태로 40% 정도는 우울 진단 범위에 속했으며 자아존중감은 장애 정도와는 상관없이 다소 높았다. 또한 우울은 양육 부담감의 하위 영역인 신체적, 심리적, 사회적, 경제적 부담감과 정적 상관을, 자아 존중감은 신체적, 심리적, 사회적 부담감과 부적상관을 보였다. 중다회귀분석 결과 우울은 양육 부담감을 설명해 주었으며, 양육 부담감의 하위 영역인 심리적 부담감은 자아 존중감에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between parenting-burden, depression and self-esteem of mothers with disabled children. The objects of this study were 173 mothers of children with disabilities residing in rehabilitation center, rehabilitation hospital, and clinic center, which statistical analysis revealed. The major results of this study are as follows: The mothers of disabled children showed above average parenting-burden than mothers of non-disabled children and their most stressful point was their worries about their children's future. Two-thirds (61.8%) of the mothers in this study was in depression and 40% of them were diagnosed as depression. The depression of the mothers increases if their children have severe disabilities. The depression of the mothers of the children with disabilities revealed positive correlations in all areas such as physical, psychological, societal and economical burden. The mothers’ self-esteem has negative correlations to the parenting-burden in areas such as physical, psychological, societal and economical burden. Finally, the depression has significant effect on parenting-burden and psychological burdens and affect their self-esteem.
