초록
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Mimosa pudica ethanol extracts (MEE) in preventimg oxidative stress in human dermal papilla cells. To evaluate cell protection against oxidative stress, the suitable concentrations with substance treatments were verified by cell viability assessment in Human Dermal Papilla cells (HDPCs) using MTT assay. The expression of Bax and Bcl-2 related to apoptosis protein factors, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) were observed in cells treated with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and test substances. Bax and TGF-β1 proteins were decreased significantly by treatment of MEE. but Bcl-2 and VEGF proteins were increased significantly by treatment of MEE. This results indicate that Mimosa pudica prevents and relieves hair loss by the anti-apoptotic effect. Also, as for irritation evaluation of MEE by bovine corneal opacity and permeability (BCOP) assay, it showed non-irritant according to the criteria of the OECD guideline 437.
