이 논문은 가능한 한 가장 단순한 모형을 통해 한계주의 가치분배이론의구조를 예시한다. 모형은 한계주의 가치분배이론을 전개하는 통상적인 방식(예를 들어, 연속적으로 미분가능한 생산함수나 비용함수를 사용하는 방식) 이 아니라, 가격방정식이나 요소가격 전선 같은 친숙하지 않은 분석방식과분석도구를 사용한다. 이런 친숙하지 않은 분석방식과 분석도구는 친숙한형태의 기존 분석에서 매우 당연한 것으로 받아들여지는 여러 사항을 비판적 시각에서 볼 수 있게 한다. 특히 이 논문은 ① 한계주의 가치분배이론에서 상정하는 ‘여건’, 즉 이론의 골격을 구성하는 근본적 외생변수들의 역할, ② 한계주의 가치분배이론의 (논문에서 다루는 제한된 의미에서) 일반균형적 성격, ③ 비용극소화 기준을 통한 생산기술 선택 논리, ④ 이산적이고 유한한 생산기술의 존재로 인해 여러 생산요소의 동시적 균형이 성립하지 않을 가능성 등을 밝힌다.
Abstract
The present paper illustrates the structure of the Marginalist theory of value and distribution in terms of a simplestpossible model. The manner of analysis the model takes is quite different from conventional ones, which are based on a continuously differentiable production function or cost function. The unfamiliar manner of analysis, adopting unfamiliar analytical tools (such as the price equation and the factorprice frontier), allows critical perspectives to those elements which are usually taken for granted. In particular, the paper makes clear ① the role of the fundamental data of the Marginalist theory of value and distribution, ② the general equilibrium nature (if in a limited sense) of the Marginal theory, ③ the logic of the choice of a costminimising production technique, and ④ the possibility that the simultaneous equilibrium may not be achieved for the factors of production, due to production techniques being discrete and of a finite number.
