사회적 배제 변화가 중장년 1인 가구의 삶의 만족도 성장궤적에 미치는 영향

초록

본 연구의 목적은 사회적 배제 변화가 중장년 1인 가구의 삶의 만족도 성장궤적에 미치는 영향을 검증하고, 성별 간 집단 차이를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 제7차(2012년)~제16차(2021년) 자료 중 중장년 1인 가구 238명을 대상으로 잠재성장모형 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중장년 1인 가구는 관계망 배제, 주거배제, 노동배제, 건강배제, 경제적 배제 순으로 높게 경험하고 있었다. 둘째, 관계망 배제는 점차 심화되고 주거배제는 완화되는 양상을 보였다. 셋째, 삶의 만족도 초기값에 경제적 배제, 건강배제, 노동배제, 주거배제, 관계망 배제 순으로 영향력을 미쳤다. 반면, 삶의 만족도 변화율에는 건강배제 변화율, 경제적 배제 변화율, 주거배제 초기값, 노동배제 변화율 순으로 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 시간의 경과에 따라 여성의 삶의 만족도는 점차 증가하는 반면, 남성은 변화하지 않아 남녀 간의 격차가 점차 심화되었다. 다섯째, 초기에 주거배제와 관계망 배제 수준이 높은 남성과 여성 모두 삶의 만족도가 낮았고, 주거배제 초기값은 여성의 삶의 만족도 변화율에 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 사회복지정책·서비스를 마련하는데 시사점을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of changes in social exclusion on the trajectory of life satisfaction among middle-aged single-person households, and to investigate gender differences within this group. To achieve this, latent growth modeling analysis was conducted on 238 middle-aged single-person households using data from the Korean Welfare Panel Study from the 7th (2012) to the 16th (2021) waves. The main results are as follows: Firstly, middle-aged, single-person households experienced social exclusion in the following order: exclusion of social relations, housing exclusion, labor exclusion, healthexclusion, and economic exclusion. Secondly, exclusion of social relations became more severe over time while exclusion from housing improved. Thirdly, economic exclusion, health exclusion, labor exclusion,housing exclusion, and exclusion of social relations respectively affected the initial level of life satisfaction. However, the rate of change in life satisfaction was affected by the rate of change in health exclusion, the rate of change in economic exclusion, the initial level of housing exclusion, and the rate of change in labor exclusion. Fourthly, over time, the increase in life satisfaction among women widened the gap with men. Fifthly, at the initial stage, both men and women in middle-aged single-person households with high levels of housing exclusion and exclusion of social relations had lower life satisfaction. Additionally, among women in middle-aged single-person households, the initial level of housing exclusion had an effect on the rate of change in life satisfaction. Based on these research findings, implications for social welfare policy and services have been suggested.
