사회적 배제가 중고령 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향: 연령에 따른 차이점 분석

초록

본 연구는 사회적 배제가 중고령 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하며, 사회적 배제와 삶의 만족도 간의 관계가 장애인의 연령에 따라 어떻게 나타나는지 살펴보는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 고령화연구패널조사의 4차 자료를 이용하여 45-64세 장애인과 438명의 65세 이상 노인 장애인을 대상으로 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 결혼상태 및 노동과 주거에서의 배제가 45-64세 장애인의 삶의 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 노동을 하지 않고, 본인소유의 집에서 살지 않는 경우 삶의 만족도가 낮은 것을 의미한다. 65세 이상 장애인의 경우 건강, 주거, 교육, 사회참여가 삶의 만족도를 예측하는 유의한 요인으로 파악되었다. 즉, 건강하지 않고, 현 거주지가 자가소유가 아니고, 중학교 이하의 교육을 받고, 이웃/친구와 왕래가 거의 없는 사람들이 그렇지 않은 사람에 비해 삶의 만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 중고령 장애인의 사회적 배제와 삶의 만족도와 관련한 사회복지적 함의를 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of social exclusion on life satisfaction of seniors with disability. Specifically, the study examines the differences in the effects of social exclusion on life satisfaction according to the age of participants. Authors conducted a secondary data analysis using the 4th wave of Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing. The sample included 202 people between 45 and 64 years of age, and 438 people over 65 years old with disability. Among those between 45 and 64 years of age, marital status, work, and living arrangement were identified as significant predictors of life satisfaction. Thus, those without spouse, not working, and living in a rented house were less satisfied with their life than their counterparts. On the other hand, for those who were 65 years old and over, self-rated health, living arrangement, education, and social interaction were significant factors affecting their life satisfaction. Based on these findings, implications to increase life satisfaction of seniors with disability are provided.
