초록
This study focused on developing and applying a writing program for secondary biology gifted students using open AI-based image generators. The purpose of this study was to find ways to improve the creative problem-solving ability of gifted students for a given problem situation. Program development was centered on the design of a convergent inquiry process through writing and image generators. Model-Eliciting Activities (MEA), a convergent problem-solving tool, is a convergent problem-solving activity designed to help students solve possible problems in real-world situations in engineering, science, and mathematics. In this study, the activity papers of secondary school biology gifted students were modified and supplemented with the MEA evaluation factors such as intuitive thinking, analytical thinking, communication, and visual expression. The first program was developed using the principle of color change such as temperature, humidity, and detection of harmful substances, and the second was developed as a future world exploration according to changes in the global environment. Following the explanatory writing and drawing of each problem, the process of drawing, self-evaluation, writing additional explanations, and redrawing pictures using the image generator, the Bing program was performed. In the process of solving problems using writing and open AI-based image generators, students evaluated, corrected, and supplemented pictures that did not reflect their opinions properly, and further specified their images. If the developed writing program is applied in the actual school field, it is expected that it can be used as an educational method to increase problem-solving ability through a convergent inquiry process that leads to writing and image generation.
