최적 재보험 전략 수립을 위한 재보험 가격 주기 분석

손해보험 비즈니스에 있어 일반보험의 성장과 더불어 수익 극대화를 위한 최적 재보험 전략의중요성이 부각되고 있음에도 불구하고 이에 대한 국내 손해보험사들의 대응은 여전히 미흡하다. 본 연구에서는 보험사의 최적 재보험 전략 수립에 있어 중요한 요소가 되는 재보험 가격의 주기에대해 분석해 보았다. 2010년부터 재보험 출재를 하고 있는 K-sure의 입장에서도 재보험 전략의 모색과 적정 보유결정은 단기적으로는 사업의 수익성 안정화 차원에서, 중장기적으로는 사업의 지속 성장 차원에서매우 중요하다고 하겠다. 만약 주기 분석을 통해 재보험의 가격 추세를 예측할 수 있다면 이는 출재사의 최적 재보험전략 수립에 있어 매우 유용할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 AR(2) 모델을 이용한 분석을 통해 A 손보사비비례적 재보험 가격에 주기가 있음을 확인하였다. 앞으로 재보험 가격 주기 분석을 통해 재보험 가격의 추세를 예측하고, 이를 바탕으로 DFA방법론을 통해 보험사의 수익을 제고할 수 있는 재보험 전략을 수립하는 노력이 보험업계에 보편화되기를 기대해 본다.
Abstract
Recently the general insurance of Korean P/L Insurance business is growingsteadily with stable earnings and the optimal reinsurance strategy is gettingmore significant for P/L insurers. This study is to analyze possible cycle ofreinsurance prices and it would be very useful for ceding insurer if any patternof cycle can be tracked. For K-sure business that has ceded risks to Korean Re since 2010, search foroptimal reinsurance strategies and retention setting is quite significant for itsprofitability in short term and for its sustainable management in the longer run. Using the data of past reinsurance prices of a major Korean P/L insurer,cycles of reinsurance premiums are found by analyzing the AR(2) model. More scientific and systematic approach for retention setting is needed forKorean insurers and optimal reinsurance strategies including analysis ofreinsurance price cycle and DFA needs to be used widely in P/L insurance industry.
