초록

本稿は、生成AI「ChatGPT」の新機能「GPTs」を活用した日本語教育の可能性と課題を考察するものである。韓国の大学における日本語教育を対象とし、筆者らが開発した二種類のGPTs(「日本語ディベート立論制作支援GPTs」と「作文添削支援GPTs」)を事例として取り上げ、実践と評価を行った。

Abstract

This paper explores the possibilities and challenges of Japanese language education using “GPTs”, custom features of ChatGPT. In this study, the authors developed and evaluated two GPTs: "Constructive Speech Builder for Japanese Debate" and "Japanese Writing Assistant". The results showed that learners were encouraged to engage in autonomous learning through the GPTs’ design, which withheld immediate feedback. The GPTs were also highly evaluated for their ability to easily identify unnatural grammar and expressions and provide alternative suggestions for more appropriate phrasing. From the teachers’ perspective, the study demonstrated practical advantages in reducing the workload associated with correcting assignments, as learners submitted work with errors already addressed. Although several limitations were identified, such as the constraints of the free version of ChatGPT and occasional inaccuracies in responses, this paper suggested measures to address these challenges and discusses the potential of generative AI for Japanese language education. The study contributes to supporting learners’ autonomous learning, improving efficiency in educational settings, and providing guidance for the development of educational methodologies utilizing generative AI.
