본 연구는 한국 대학교에서 일본어를 전공하는 학생을 대상으로 하는 ‘일본어 작문’ 수업에서 생성형 AI를 활용하여 학습자의 자율적인 사고력과 작문 능력을 기르고자 한 교육 실천 사례를 다룬 것이다. 15주간의 수업에서는 플립 러닝과 액티브 러닝을 결합하고, 학생들은 설명문 작성 사고의 언어화 조언 작성 과제 등 다양한 활동을 통해 생성 AI 통합의 효과를 평가했다. AI를 활용한 자기 표현력과 타자 이해 능력의 함양을 목표로 삼았다. 연구 결과 생성 AI는 학습자들이 일본어 작문에서 겪는 어려움을 극복하도록 돕고 창의성과 표현력을 향상시키는 데 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 또 설문 결과, 학생들은 AI를 참고하면서도 자신의 생각을 주체적으로 글로 발전시키는 의식을 가졌음을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, AI 의존이나 표현의 획일화 등의 과제도 드러났다. 이번 실천은 생성형 AI를 보조 도구로 적절히 위치시킴으로써 창의적이고 비판적인 사고력 활동을 촉진할 수 있는 가능성을 시사한다. 일본어 교육에 새로운 가능성을 제시하고 생성 AI의 교육적 활용에 도움이 될 것이다.
Abstract
This study presents an educational practice aimed at fostering independent thinking and writing skills among students majoring in Japanese at a South Korean university by incorporating generative AI into a Japanese composition course. Over a 15-week period, the course combined flipped learning with active learning. Students engaged in various activities—including explanatory writing, verbalizing their thought processes, and providing written feedback—to evaluate the effectiveness of generative AI integration. The course aimed to cultivate self-expression and the ability to understand others through the use of AI. The findings revealed that generative AI supported learners in overcoming difficulties in Japanese composition and contributed to enhancing creativity and expressive ability. Furthermore, survey responses showed that students developed an awareness of independently shaping their ideas in writing, even while referring to AI-generated suggestions. However, issues such as overreliance on AI and the risk of standardized expressions also emerged. This practice suggests the potential of positioning generative AI as a supportive tool to encourage creative and critical thinking. It offers new possibilities for Japanese language education and provides insights into the educational use of generative AI.
