사회적기업의 위험감수성 비교분석

사회적기업은 이윤 추구를 통한 조직 생존과 사회적 기여를 동시에 추구한다는 점에서 태생적으로 다양한 형태의 취약성을 감내하기로 스스로 선택하였다고 할 수 있다. 이 연구는 사회적기업이라면 마땅히 견지해야 할 의도적 위험감수성의 개념과 이론적 근거에 기초하여 국내 사회적기업의 위험감수성 현황을 파악한 후, 보다 경쟁력 있는 대안적 경제주체로서 사회적기업을 발전시키기 위한 정책적 대안을 제시하고자 하였다. 핵심적 선행연구인 Bruni & Tufano(2017)에 기초하여 국내 사회적기업이 보유한 위험감수성과 그 변화유도능력의 현황을 알아보기 위해, 이 연구는 인증 사회적기업 및 EOC기업 각 2개씩을 선별하여 심층 비교사례분석을 실시하였다. 참여관찰 및 관계자 심층면접을 통해 획득한 모든 자료들은 Strauss & Corbin(1998)의 근거이론접근법을 통해 정리되었다. 비교분석 대상 4개 사회적기업의 위험감수성은 그 대상 및 내용별로 세분화하여 총 8개의 핵심범주로 구체화되었고, 그 각각에 대하여 공통점과 차이점이 압축되었다. 분석결과, 비교분석대상 기업들 간에 위험감수성의 수준에서 범주별로 분명한 차이가 있었으며, 자체적인 노력 대비 외부지원 간의 균형이 필요하고, 사회적기업과 EOC기업 간에도 조직의 태생적인 차이점이 분명히 드러났으며, 위험감수성 실천 노력의 일관성이라는 차원에서는 규모와 역사가 중요한 역할을 한다는 점 등이 부각되었다. 마지막으로 이 연구는 각각의 위험감수성 핵심범주별로 향후 더욱 실효적으로 사회적기업진흥사업을 추진하기 위해서 필요한 정책적 시사점을 몇 가지 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the current state of intentional vulnerability and its transformative capacity in Korean social enterprises based on the conceptual framework of Bruni & Tufano(2017). Intentional vulnerability and its transformative capacity are assumed to be the key for the further advancement of social enterprises in Korean. For the analysis of the current situation of intentional vulnerability and its transformative capacity in Korean social enterprises, this study selects 2 officially approved social enterprises and 2 economy of communion firms. For the summary of data from the 4 social enterprises, this study employs the approaches of Strauss & Corbin(1998). As a result, this study finds 8 core categories of intentional vulnerability derived from the grounded theory procedures and techniques. From the comparative analysis on the 4 Korean social enterprises, this study finds wide variety of intentional vulnerability and its transformative capacity. Some differences come from the organizational origin of social enterprises, others stem from the history and consistency of activities of managers of the firms. Finally, this study presents several policy suggestions for the further development of promotion project of Korean government for social enterprises.
