Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the moderation effect of servant leadership in the effect and relation of work-family conflict on turnover intention. The study started with assumption that even though employees experienced conflicts at work and at home, if there was a support of the leader who showed servant leadership, the turnover intention would be perceived low. For this purpose, this study established the research hypothesis based on previous studies to verify the causal relation between variables practically. The research samples were collected from employees in service companies. And 323 sheets of valid questionnaire were used for analysis. The findings of the analysis are as follows. Firstly, it was found that Work interference with Family(WIF) had positive (+) effect on turn-over intention. The more they perceived WIF, the higher turn-over intention they had. Secondly, it was found that Family interference with Work(FIW) had positive (+) effect on turn-over intention. If they perceived conflicts of work life due to the role of family life, they had higher turnover intention. Thirdly, as for the moderation effect of servant leadership, it was found that there was moderation effect in the interrelation between Work interference with Family(WIF) and servant leadership. There was no significant moderating effect between Family interference with Work(FIW) and servant leadership. The reason was because that the influence of servant leadership of direct supervisor that was selected as a moderating variable was higher than family inducing conflict(FIW).
