Abstract
The infrastructure of communication and broadcasting is being fast transferred into digitalization, which brings up the convergence of both communication and broadcasting, and also provides a variety of broadcasting services. The digital broadcasting services equip a viewer with higher visual and audio quality than the conventional analogue ones. However, digital broadcasting systems still have difficulties in receiving TV signals under mobile environments. In order to solve these difficulties, a new broadcasting system, Digital Multimedia Broadccasting (DMB), has been proposed. The DMB system provides multimedia services on the basis of Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), and thus can guarantee to receive TV signals under mobile environment with CD rate visual and audio services. This paper introduces the trend and technical specification of the domestic standard for terrestrial DMB system.
