국내 지상파 TV방송사들은 정부가 정한 8-VSB HDTV방송방식으로 2001년 말부터 디지털 본방송을 시작, 2010년경 아날로그 방송을 종료한다는 목표로 디지털 전환계획을 추진하고 있다. 본 논고에서는 아날로그에서 디지털로 전환하는 과정의 환경 변화와 특성, 디지털 지상파TV의 현황에 대하여 논하고, 디지털 전환에 직접 관계되는 정부의 재정 지원, HDTV프로그램 제작, 수상기 보급, 중장기적으로 관계되는 시장 지배력, 영상산업의 경쟁력, 이동TV수신 서비스와 새로운 시장 창출에 관한 과제들을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The Korean Government decided on the 8-VSB HDTV system to be the digital terrestrial TV broadcasting system in korea., Nov. 1997. Depending on the master plan, the terrestrial broadcasting companies(KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS, and the local TV stations) have to substitute the digital TV systems for the all analog TV systems from the year 2001 to 2010. In this thesis, the first, the change and character of TV broadcasting environment to be occurred from substituting the digital system and the current status of the digital terrestrial TV broadcasting are discussed, and the next, the future requirements of the fund, the HDTV program production and supplying HDTV receiver, which have a directly influence on the digitalizing, are proposed, and the third, the future requirements of the terrestrial broadcasting company’s shares of the broadcasting market, the competitive power of the broadcasting program market, and the mobile TV receiving, which have a middle and long term influence on the digitalizing , are proposed.
