초록

This study aims to examine the standardness of current norm-based grammar education by defining the attributes of standardness as uniformity, practicality, commonality, and actuality. These attributes were established based on the dictionary definition of standardness as generality and universality, through a comprehensive review of the characteristics of school grammar and linguistic norms. Based on analyses of the 2015 and 2022 revised national curricula, the findings are as follows. First, the current normative grammar relatively well embodies practicality, actuality, and commonality. The ‘Hangeul Matchumbeop’ and ‘Pyojun Baleumbeop’ focus on rules that learners find difficult, presenting familiar vocabulary as examples. Second, the Standard Language Regulations require supplementation as part of normative grammar; newly designated standard words since 2011 that are directly related to Matchumbeop’ rules should be considered for inclusion. Third, while a certain level of uniformity has been achieved between the norms and textbooks as well as among textbooks, inconsistencies remain in the explanation of rules, indicating a need for greater coherence.
