Abstract
The paper dealt with the following research topics. First, we looked at the principles of cooperatives and examined the possibility of social economy-based activities of art. Cooperative principles can also be applied to social economy-based local culture and activities of art. Second, the results of a survey of 108 artists who experienced the social economy in Daegu and Gyeongbuk were analyzed. As a result of the factor analysis, six categories were identified, including "voluntary and openness," "co-prosperity with local communities," "solidarity and cooperation," "democracy," "economy," and "autonomy and independence," excluding "sharing of information." In addition, the regression analysis showed that the artist's social economic experience had a particular impact on solidarity and cooperation, spontaneity and openness, economy, coexistence with local communities, and democracy, while autonomy and independence factors were not related to social economic experiences. Third, external limitations such as difficulties in employment and support systems, perceptions of social economy organizations, and internal limitations such as artists' identity conflicts, operations, and organizational conflicts were pointed out as difficulties experienced by local cultural artists performing social economic activities.
