이 글은 이론적으로 미디어ᐨ네트워크를 규정함은 물론 미디어ᐨ네트워크를 네트워크화의 진전에 따라 잠재태와 현실태로 구분하고, 이를 한국미디어패널조사가 제공하는 미디어 기기의 보유 및 사용 경험, 그리고 개인별 미디어 다이어리자료에 대한 분석을 통해 경험적으로 접근하였다. 미디어ᐨ네트워크에 대한 분석, 특히 지표화는 라투르 등의 STA 분석을 원용하고, 이런 지표들을 가구의 특성에 따라 집단별로 비교하여 그 의미를 추출하고자 하였다. 구체적인 분석에서이 글은 분석 단위를 가구로 설정하고, 지표로는 크기 지표와 현실화 지표를 구성하여 현재 주된 관심의 대상인 TV 수상기와 데스크탑 PC, 휴대전화의 관점에서 미디어ᐨ네트워크의 잠재태와 현실태의 모습을 그려 보고자 하였다. 마지막으로 이론적, 산업적 측면에서 이 글의 함의를 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to define the mediaᐨnetwork in terms of potentialities and actualities according to the progress of media device’s networking. The KISDI media panel data were analyzed empirically on the basis of Latour’s STA, and we tried to extract meanings by comparing the results by household groups. In detail, this article constitutes size index (SI) as well as actualization index (AI), and illustrates potentialities and actualities of mediaᐨnetworks from the perspective of TV, desktop PC, and mobile phone respectively. Lastly, the implications are discussed in theoretical and industrial aspects.
