이 논문 「횔덜린과 김춘수 시의 고향의 의미: 하이데거의 존재론적 관점으로」는 횔덜린과 김춘수 시에 나타난 고향의 의미를 하이데거의 존재론적 관점으로 구명하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 하이데거는 현대를 허무주의적인 고향상실의 시대로 규정하고 존재 망각과 존재 포기 상태를 극복하고, 존재의 생기를 되찾아 현존재의 본래적 의미를 회복하고자 모색하였다. 그러한 과정에서 하이데거는 횔덜린의 시적 사유를 서구 존재사의 위기를 전회할 대안으로 이해하였다. 2장에서는 고향상실의 시대의 ‘존재 망각’과 ‘존재 포기’가 논의되었다. 3장에서는 고향의 본래적 의미로서 존재의 근원에 대해 논의되었다. 4장에서는 귀향의 의미, 다시 말해, 존재 생기의 회복을 넘어 근원으로의 회귀에 대해 논의되었다. 결론적으로, 하이데거는 서구 형이상학의 위기, 즉, 존재사의 위기를 극복할 전회의 계기를 시인으로부터 찾고 있었다. 그는 존재의 근원에 고향이라는 상징적 의미를 부여하였다. 그러므로 귀향의 의미 역시 존재사적인 의미를 갖는다. 다시 말해, 허무주의적 위기로부터 벗어나, 미래의 인류가 존재의 진리를 열어 밝혀 보일 현존재의 본래성을 회복하는 것이 현시점의 존재사적 과제이다. 인간을 ‘존재의 시’이도록 만드는 것, 여기에 바로 오늘날 시인의 역할이 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the meaning of Heimat (homeland) as presented in Hölderlin’s and Chun-su Kim’s poetry from the perspective of Heidegger’s ontology. Heidegger characterizes modernity as an era of nihilistic loss of Heimat that strives to overcome the states of forgetfulness of Being and abandonment of Being to restore vitality to Being and recover the original meaning of Dasein. In this process, Heidegger understands Hölderlin’s poetic thinking as an alternative to the crisis of Western metaphysics. In Chapter 2, the paper discusses the concepts of forgetfulness of Being and abandonment of Being within the context of an era characterized by the loss of Heimat. Chapter 3 explores the ontological foundation of Heimat as the origin of Being. Chapter 4 delves into the significance of returning home—that is, not only the recovery of vitality but also a return to the source. In conclusion, Heidegger sought a turning point to overcome the crisis of Western metaphysics, or the crisis of the history of Being, in the role of the poet. He endowed the concept of Heimat with a symbolic meaning as the origin of Being. Therefore, the notion of returning home also holds historical and ontological significance. In other words, breaking free from nihilistic crisis and restoring the authenticity of Dasein, which will unveil the truth of Being for future humanity, is the existential task of our time. To make humanity “the poetry of Being” is the very role of poets today.
