『죽음과 소녀』의 빠울리나 인물행동구축 연구 : 외상후 스트레스 장애의 관점과 라반 움직임 분석을 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to build the dramatic action of 『Death and the Maiden』, Paulina, through analyzing her from the perspective of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the Laban Movement Analysis, assuming that the representation of the character three-dimensonally and multifacetedly to figure out the past history of the character. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychological approach suitable for analyzing Paulina who has suffered trauma from ‘sexual assault’, because this disorder is mental and physical disability that comes from the direct or indirect experience of natural disasters or life-threatening trauma events. Therefore, I analyzed Paulina based on the characteristics of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and found three characteristics of her as ‘the reexperiencing of past sexual assault’, ‘the evasion that brings change of tendency’, and ‘the awakening represented by anger expression’. In addition, I introduced the ‘Effort’ element, which is one of the Laban movement analysis factors, to analyze and construct the physical action that occurs when a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder encounters people, situations, or object related to the trauma event. Laban movement analysis is one of the best theories that express physically. Among these, ‘Effort’ is suitable for physically expressing the disorder of the character, because it is released through not only the emotion but also the interaction of the body and mind. Based on the three characteristics of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder stated above, I constructed the character behavior of Paulina through ‘the involuntary reexperiencing by memory’, ‘the illogical behavior that breaks down everyday patterns’, and ‘the irrational behavior by sensitivity’. Through this study, I presented practical method for analyzing and constructing a character who has huge mental and physical agony such as ‘sexual assault’ in various aspects.
