호텔·관광전공 대학생의 공감능력이 회복탄력성과 전공만족도에 미치는 영향: 감사성향의 매개 효과

초록

본 연구는 호텔, 관광 전공 관련 대학생들을 대상으로 공감능력이 회복탄력성과 전공만족도에 미치는 영향과 감사성향이 회복탄력성과 전공만족도에 어떠한 매개효과가 있는지를 검증하고자 진행하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 관련된 선행연구를 바탕으로 연구모형과 가설을 설정하였으며, 연구모형 및 가설 검증에 따른 실증적 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공감능력이 감사성향에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미칠 것으로 예측한 결과, 공감능력의 하위요인 정서공감은 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 정서공감은 감사성향에 의미 있는 영향을 미치는 변수로 보기어려워 기각되었다. 둘째, 감사성향은 회복탄력성에 유의한 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 감사성향은 전공만족도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 회복탄력성은 전공만족도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 매개효과와 관련해서, 공감능력의 인지공감은 감사성향을 매개로 회복탄력성의 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 공감능력의 정서공감은 감사성향에 매개로 회복탄력성에 간접효과의 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 공감능력의 인지공감은 감사성향을 매개로 전공만족도의 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확되었었으나, 공감능력의 정서공감은 감사성향에 매개로 전공만족도에 간접효과의 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 시사점은 호텔, 관광 전공 대학생 공감능력이 회복탄력성과 전공만족도에 미치는 영향력과 감사성향이 갖는 매개효과를 파악했다는 점에서 의미가 있으며, 전공학과와 관련 실무자 교육에 시사점을 제공한다.

Abstract

This study was conducted on university students related to hotel and tourism majors to find out how empathic ability affects resilience and satisfaction in major, and how gratitude disposition has mediate effects between resilience and satisfaction in major. The study model and hypothesis were established based on the relevant precious research. The empirical analysis results of the study model and hypothesis verification are as follow. First, the hypothesis that empathic ability would have a significant positive effect on the gratitude disposition showed that emotional empathy, a sub-factor of empathy, had a significant positive effect, but cognitive empathy, another sub-factor of empathy, was rejected as a variable that had a significant effect on the gratitude disposition. Second, the gratitude disposition had a significant positive effect on resilience. Third, the gratitude disposition had a significant positive effect on the satisfaction in major. Fourth, resilience positively impacted on the satisfaction in major. As for the mediate effect, cognitive empathy had a significant indirect effect on resilience through the gratitude disposition. but Emotional empathy on resilience was found that there was no significant impact on indirect effects. Finally, the cognitive empathy impacted the satisfaction in major through the gratitude disposition, but the emotional empathy did not significantly affect the satisfaction in major through the mediate variable, the gratitude disposition. The theoretical implication of this study have identified the influence of empathic ability among college students majoring in hotel and tourism management. It is also meaningful in that it has identified the mediate effect of the gratitude disposition of university students related to service majors as stated above. The results of this study will provide implications for the major department of college and the relevant industry employees.
