카르멘 포사다스의 『모두가 네스터를 죽이고 싶어 한다』는 얼핏 보기에는 흑색소설처럼 보이지만 이 작품은 흑색소설이라고 칭하기에는 그동안의 흑색소설의 주제들과는 다른사랑이야기를 주제로 하고 있다. 그렇다면 이 소설을 로맨스 소설이라고 볼 수 있을까? 이 소설은 낭만주의적인 사랑이야기를 하는 것이 아니라 퇴폐주의적이고 도덕적으로 타락한 인물들의 불륜과 근친, 당시 스페인사회에서 금기시 되었던 동성애를 이야기한다. 더나아가 이 소설은 단지 사랑이야기로 끝나는 것이 아니라 죽음과 살인사건으로 연계되고삶에 대한 비관주의적 시각과 죽음에 대한 차가운 관조, 그리고 인간성 상실이라는 작가의 비판적 시각을 보여준다. 이러한 주제들은 독자로 하여금 19세기 말의 데카당스적 요소들을 떠올리게 만든다. 작가는 흑색소설의 정치⋅사회비판적 기능을 도덕적 타락과 인간성상실에 대한 비판으로 전환시켜 20세기 말의 세기말적 현상을 보여주는 데카당스 추리소설을 완성한다.
Abstract
At first glance, Carmen Posadas’s Pequeñas infamias looks like a black novel, but this work is based on a story of love that is different from the black ones. If so, could this be considered a romance novel? This novel is not about a romantic love story, but about the immorality and incest of the decadent and immoral characters and homosexuality, a taboo in Spanish society at the time. Furthermore, the novel does not end with just a love story, but is linked to death and murder, showing a pessimistic view of life, a cold contemplation of death, and a loss of humanity. These themes remind the reader of the elements of the Decadence of the late 19th century. The author transforms the political and social critical functions of the black novel into a critique of moral depravity and loss of humanity, completing the Decadance mystery novel that shows the end-of-the-century phenomenon at the end of the 20th century.
