죽음에 대한 사유와 그로 인한 카타스트로프적 단절과 불연속성에 대한인식은 이미 그 안에 문제 해결을 위한 과정을 포함하고 있다. 그러한 과정은 행위로 이끌며 변화를 가져온다. 오지 않은 죽음에 대한 사유를 미리삶 속으로 들여와 경험하며, 죽음의 매개화가 이루어지는 것처럼, 죽음의카타스트로프적 단절의 지각적 경험에서 오는 불안한 감정은 동시에 이를해소하려는 자발적 의지로 사랑이라는 대상을 요청한다. 이러한 과정은 문제를 인식 혹은 발견하지 못하면 풀 수 있는 의지와 동기가 없는 것처럼,분리의 특성을 갖는 죽음의 카타스트로프적 상황이 야기하는 ‘자발적 복종’의 형태는 결합의 특성을 갖는 ‘자발적 자유’인 사랑의 행위를 통해서 봉합된다. 이렇게 죽음과 사랑은 교류적 행위 속에서 서로를 필요로 하며 두추상적 사고의 대상은 시작과 끝으로 서사적 정신을 구성한다. 이러한 가설을 기반으로 몽테뉴의 『에세』중, 낙마사건과 우정의 텍스트에 드러난죽음과 사랑이 몽테뉴의 글쓰기를 통해 중재되고 있음을 살펴보게 될 것이며, 그러한 글쓰기에 드러난 몽테뉴의 의식을 서사적 정신의 관점에서 고찰할 것이다.
Abstract
The death of thought, and thus an awareness of catastrophic rupture and discontinuity, embeds a process of problem-solving. The process,thus, leads to action and a deed for transformation. As we experience death to come by inviting it into life as thought-object, perceptual catastrophic experience of death which arouses a feeling of anxiety requires a love for relief by virtue of emotional and volitional act. Without recognition of a catastrophic situation in life where there will be no volition to solve it, likewise, a catastrophe by death with voluntary servitude corresponds to the love of action by voluntary liberty, functioning as a remedy for rupture. In this way, death and love requires each other as a transactional relation and therefore constitute a narrative mind of from beginning to end, that is, from problem-finding to problem-solving. Based on this hypothesis, I look at Montaigne's two pieces of writing in Essais, which relates to death and love and from which I will examine the flow of consciousness in light of narrative mind.
