Abstract

This study examines the successful cases of regional development-type culture and arts festivals that are being successfully conducted in Korea and discusses extracurricular programs to facilitate education for community participation-type humanities and social convergence talents. In terms of convergence of various disciplines and social sites, which are the biggest characteristics of the regional development current culture and arts festival, and leading communication and development with local communities, it was possible to identify and rediscover the value applied to extracurricular programs for cultivating humanities and social talents. In the future, this study will serve as basic data for research and application of various field-oriented comparison and programs to cultivate humanities and social convergence talents in connection with community culture and arts festivals in universities. In particular, students in the humanities and social sciences can understand various cultures in the community and provide opportunities to practice interest and participation in changing community culture and arts festivals, and furthermore, it can be a starting point for local and university to resolve regional issues and various conflicts and problems together.
