본 연구는 초등 저학년을 대상으로 늘봄학교의 체육 및 창의과학 활동이 창의성, 의사소통, 표현력에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 충북과 경기 지역의 1·2학년 학생을 실험집단과 비교집단으로 구분하여 15주간 프로그램을 운영하고, 사전·사후검사 및 독립표본 t-검정을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 창의과학 활동은 ‘주도적 의사소통’과 ‘비언어적 표현력’에서 유의미한 향상이 나타났으며, 체육 활동은 ‘비언어적 표현력’에서 향상을 보였다. 교사 인터뷰는 이러한 양적 결과를 뒷받침하며, 발달 단계의 적합성 및 교육적 여건이 프로그램 효과에 영향을 미친다는 점을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 초등 저학년 맞춤형 늘봄학교의 발달 단계에 적합한 프로그램 설계와 교육적 지원을 위한 자료를 제공한 것에 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study examined the effects of the Neulbom School’s creative science and physical education activities on the creativity, communication, and expression of lower-grade elementary students. A 15-week program was implemented with first- and second-grade students in Chungbuk (experimental group) and Gyeonggi (comparison group). Pre-and post-tests were conducted, and independent-sample t-tests were used to analyze changes. The creative science activities produced significant improvements in initiative communication and nonverbal expression, while the physical education activities enhanced nonverbal expression. Teacher interviews supported these findings and suggested that developmental appropriateness and educational conditions may influence the effectiveness of the program, which are discussed as implications for future research. These results provide practical evidence for designing Neulbom programs based on the appropriateness of the student’s developmental state and for strengthening educational support systems tailored to young elementary learners.
