무용교육 활성화를 통한 무용예술 대중화 방안 모색

Abstract

The vulnerability of dance arts has been mentioned as the subject matter of survival within dance circles for a long time but among the pure arts the fact that only dance arts has been neglected by the general public evokes a sense of crisis. The survey for culture yearning(2008), conducted every second year, shows that the rate of viewing or enjoying dance arts performance, which has the record of 0.03 times a year, is lowest the among all of the art events or genre, which means that the conditions of dance among the pure arts are thought of as a very serious situation, so it is urgent to present the new alternative plan for this. In modern society in which the art has emerged as the primary means of improving the quality of life and self-fulfillment not only for the survival of dance art but also for standing at the center of the dance curriculum, the dance curriculum should be independent of others, active in dance education and the popularization of dance art should be absolutely accomplished. Thus, the purpose of this study aims to learn the value and current issues in dance education and to raise the necessity of activation in this diversified dance education and to find how dance art can be popularized. Since the establishment of the Republic of Korea dance education in schools from 1st national curriculum, even from the 7th revision of curriculum has been in the situation in which the dance art has been being handled as part of middle and high school physical education, and compared with some developed countries, the importance and utility of the dance art is being underestimated. Though it is fortune that dance education is being conducted currently through the support of school art teachers, dance education by target and life-long(hobby) dance education, for the activation of the dance art education the change into professional training materials and the advanced education environment should be required. In this study the researcher suggests the development challenges for the effective operation of this dance-related necessary education. The dance circles themselves should move forward to work in organization and accomplish the significant outcome by presenting alternatives and improving the challenges that occur during dance training the significant achievements. When this is done the activation of dance education and the popularity of dance art is considered to be able to be attained through the change in recognition from ‘the art for view’ to the art for participation in and enjoyment’. In the 21st century, the answer to the survival of the arts depends on the new junction between arts education and art itself.
