Abstract
This study will examine the significant transformation of Indian languages and literature before and after independence. It will also investigate the process of expansion of jātīya language into an indian national language and jātīya literature into indian national literature. By analysing the discursive processes that facilitated this transformation, we seek to utilise them as a framework for interpreting the contemporary language and literature situation. The objective of this paper is to gain insight into the processes of change that are currently influencing the state of language and literature. In order to achieve this, we will trace the current status of India's languages, writers' literary concepts, and the process of establishing literary institutions and literary awards. Furthermore, we will analyse the formation process of jātīya language, national language, jātīya literature, and Indian literature. Furthermore, we aim to examine the ways in which language and literature can serve as a means of fostering harmony and understanding across linguistic and cultural boundaries. In doing so, we will also explore the historical and contemporary contexts in which language has been utilized as a tool for the construction of boundaries in India, a multilingual society. Additionally, we will investigate the ways in which the value of harmony has been sought to overcome these boundaries in literary space.
